By Brian Bennett

Sports need a lot of practice if you want to excel. You cannot win a competition without practice. The best players take their time to practice because they know the importance of exercising. Likewise, if you want to perform the best hockey drills, you have to practice as well. This game requires players who are dedicated to winning any upcoming tournaments. Also, it needs teamwork as you cannot play alone. There are so many strategies that you can use to win the game. Below are some habits that you can adopt to become the best player.

When you shoot, do not shoot as if you have no goals. Shoot so hard aiming to score. Use all your strength and shoot. Even if you feel like you might not score, ignore the fear and take a breath. Then, think of the best strategy that you can employ to win the game. While you think, ignore all the rival players and shoot to score.

Additionally, ensure that you always accelerate to the net and avoid gliding. Gliding may make you lose balance, thus losing your aim. Hence, always make sure that you head to the net at high speed. This will help you to not to use as much energy on your chest. More so, the kick will come out so swift and unpredictable.

When doing the drills, ensure that you do not get distracted by other players. Studies have shown that watching the other players practice and do the kick is as good as practicing. This means that your motor neurons will also fire but with lesser energy. More so, you will notice that the other players make and avoid them when you are practicing or playing.

When practicing alone, make sure you add some moves to the game. Do not play plainly because no one is watching. Therefore, you can add more moves when moving to the net. Drive wide as you add intensity. Make sure you have done all the things you do when playing with your teammates like protecting the pluck.

When practicing, make sure you have brought all the creativity to practice. Do not be afraid to try new tricks that may lead to your loss of the pluck. When you become creative and lose the pluck, it means that you are challenging your body into new positions that it does not recognize. Thus, you will become a better player.

Even if you are the best player, do not think that you are perfect. Therefore, make sure you always ask the coach to clarify things that you do not understand. When you do not understand something, do not walk away from the coach confused. Hence, ask the trainers to clarify the moves you do not understand.

More so, you should show some aggressiveness when you practice. Although some players tend to take practice sessions very lightly, these sessions are critical. You will realize your mistakes and weaknesses and work hard to get rid of them. Overall, you will have become a more competent player.
