Why A Galvanized Pile Driver Is Essential In Construction

The construction business requires many types of equipment and machinery. When it comes to large urbanization projects some may need something as large as cranes, back hoes and other ones that get the job done. The project managers and owners have a choice of whether to rent out these things or buy them depending on the circumstance and duration of construction.

One process of making a building is digging and forming a solid foundation. Most often they use a galvanized pile driver. What this basically does is to drive piles and into the soil to provide support for the building foundation.This is often utilized for deep foundations and not for shallow ones that are often used for houses and low level buildings.

The higher the building goes, the deeper its foundations need to be. This serves the purpose of efficiently distributing the load on different parts of the structure to make sure it is safe. Driving pole like materials that get integrated into the overall structure into to subsoil makes sure that the footing is stable. This become possible with caissons, impact driven piles, helical piles and earth stabilized columns are used.

There are many materials that can be used for the piles from steel, reinforced concrete, timber and pre stressed concrete. The basic structure for building footing involves a pile, cap, grade beam, then the wall. This distributes the weight that cannot be handled by the pole alone. The lighter parts are distributed onto the grade beams while heavier ones are directed onto the cap.

Boring and driving are the two methods available in installing the founding poles. Driving in particular, is a lot like hammering down a nail on wood except in a more massive scale. There are two ways that driving can be done which are the pre cast and cast in situ. These same options are also available for the boring method.

The methods that is used depends on factors like soil quality, rocks, strata and other environmental compositions that is present in the location. Since soil have different consistencies, the materials and ways used for the pile and its installation would have to vary accordingly. What is done on normal wet soil, cannot be done in a construction located on the mountain, or the desert, like Dubai.

Approval for usage of this equipment depends on the engineer and the method cannot be started unless it is evaluated by them. The structure of the driver basically composes of the hammer, cushions, leads, the pile and the template. There are various types of hammers and they can vary in efficiency.

The most efficient one with a percentage of 95 is the hydraulic or diesel powered one with a built in energy measurement. Others types include drop, single or double acting air or steam, diesel and lastly vibratory or sonic powered ones. The drop hammer has the lowest efficiency rate since it is only powered by gravity controlling the height of the equipment and just dropping it into the yard.

Using one of these equipment is not as simple as driving a huge truck.The whole process of using this is a matter of engineering that would depend on the building plan. The machinery itself also vary in structure depending on what type you are planning to use on the project.
